As a big John Lennon fan I’m surprised it took me three years to get around to watching it. Basically, if you haven’t seen it, the movie is a musical set to the backdrop of Beatles Tunes (kind of like a modern day Grease for Beatles fans).
During the movie, the lead character Jude (played by the highly talented Jim Sturgess) said a line that I feel sums up what those who serve with excellence understand perfectly.
This is paraphrased at best but basically his line was along the lines of:
“It’s not who you are or what you do that defines you, it’s HOW you do it”
Far be it for me to argue a line from a movie featuring songs co-written by John Lennon.
That said, when your legacy (especially in relation to how you serve others) is on the line, HOW you do something will always be remembered long after who you are, and at least as long as what you do.
